If you're experiencing issues with your microphone not working in the iOS NoteGoat app, follow these steps to ensure that microphone access is properly configured:
Step 1: Check Microphone Hardware
Before troubleshooting within the app, make sure your device's microphone hardware is functioning correctly. Test it with other apps or voice recording functions to ensure it's working as expected.
Step 2: Check iOS Privacy Settings
Open the "Settings" app on your iOS device.
Scroll to the bottom where the apps are listed and find NoteGoat and select the grey arrow.
Ensure that the toggle switch next to "Microphone" is turned on (green) for the NoteGoat app. This allows the app to access your device's microphone.

In Settings select, "Privacy & Security" (this may be slightly different based on your iOS version)
Then select “Microphone.”
Scroll down and find the NoteGoat app. On the right side, you’ll see the toggle for the microphone. Ensure that NoteGoat is listed with the Green toggle.
Step 3: Check iOS Restrictions
In the iOS Settings app, navigate to "Screen Time."
Tap on "Content & Privacy Restrictions" and make sure these restrictions are properly configured. If the microphone access is restricted, you might need to adjust these settings.
Step 5: Restart the App
Close NoteGoat completely by double-clicking the home button (or swiping up from the bottom edge on devices without a home button) and swiping the app's preview card away.
Reopen NoteGoat and test the microphone functionality.
Step 6: Update iOS
Make sure you're using the latest version of iOS. Go to "Settings" > "General" > "Software Update" to check for and install any available updates.
Step 7: Update NoteGoat
Update NoteGoat from the App Store. Sometimes updates address compatibility issues, including microphone problems.
